The Notebook

This movie was released by year 2004 and as far as I remember I am quite hooked up in watching movies. But it made me realize what I was been up to and why I haven't got a chance to watch one of these great love story. I was really totally teared eyes at the end of the movie.

In a modern-day nursing home, an elderly man named Duke (James Garner) begins to read a love story from his notebook to a female fellow patient (Gena Rowlands).

The story begins in 1940. At a carnival in Seabrook Island, South Carolina, local country boy Noah Calhoun (Ryan Gosling) sees seventeen-year-old heiress Allie Hamilton (Rachel McAdams) for the first time and is immediately smitten. She continuously refuses his persistent advances until their well-meaning friends lure them together; they then get to know each other on a midnight walk through empty Seabrook.

Noah and Allie spend an idyllic summer together. One night, a week before Allie is to leave town, she and Noah go up to an abandoned house called The Windsor Plantation. Noah tells her that he hopes to buy the house, and Allie makes him promise that the house will be white, with blue shutters, a walk-around porch, and a room that overlooks the creek so she can paint. They intend to make love for the first time, but are interrupted by Noah's friend Fin (Kevin Connolly) with the news that Allie's parents have the police out looking for her. When Allie returns home, her disapproving parents ban her from seeing Noah again. Allie fights with Noah outside and the two decide to break up. Allie immediately regrets the decision but Noah drives away. The next morning, Allie's mother reveals that they are going home that morning. Allie frantically tries to find Noah, but is forced to leave without saying good-bye. The Hamiltons then send Allie to New York, where she begins attending Sarah Lawrence College. Noah, devastated by his separation from Allie, writes her one letter a day for a year, only to get no reply as Allie's mother keeps the letters from her. Noah and Allie have no choice but to move on with their lives. Allie continues to attend school, while Noah and Fin enlist to fight in World War II. Fin is killed in battle.

Allie becomes a nurse for wounded soldiers. There, she meets the wealthy Lon Hammond, Jr. (James Marsden), a well-connected young lawyer who is handsome, sophisticated, charming and comes from old Southern money. The two eventually become engaged, to the joy of Allie's parents, although Allie sees Noah's face when Lon asks her to marry him.

When Noah returns home, he discovers his father has sold their home so that Noah can go ahead and buy The Windsor Plantation. While visiting Charleston to file some paper work, Noah witnesses Allie and Lon kissing at a restaurant, causing Noah to go a little crazy, convincing himself that if he fixes up the house, Allie will come back to him.

While trying on her wedding dress in the 1940s, Allie is startled to read about Noah completing the house in the style section of a Raleigh newspaper and faints. She visits Noah in Seabrook and he invites her to dinner, during which Allie tells Noah about her engagement. Noah questions whether Allie's future husband is a good man and she reassures Noah that he is. Later in the evening, Noah invites Allie to come back tomorrow.

In the present, it is made clear that the elderly woman is Allie suffering from dementia, which has stolen her memories and Duke is her husband. Allie does not recognize their grown children and grandchildren, who beg Duke to come home with them. He insists on staying with Allie.

The next morning, Allie and Noah go rowing on a nearby lake and begin to reminisce about their summer together. As a rain storm starts Noah rows to shore, where Allie demands to know why Noah never wrote to her. After the revelation that Noah had indeed written to Allie, they share a passionate kiss, before making love into the night.

The next day, Allies mother appears on Noahs doorstep, telling Allie that Lon has followed her to Seabrook after Allie's father told him about Noah. Her mother takes Allie out for a drive to show her that there had been a time in her life when she could relate to Allie's present situation. On returning to Noah's, she hands her daughter the bundle of 365 letters that Noah had written to her. When alone, Noah asks Allie what she is going to do; Allie is confused and confesses that she doesnt know. Noah asks her to just stay with him, admitting it is going to be really hard, but he is willing to go through anything because he wants to be with her. Confused as ever, Allie drives off.

Allie drives to the hotel and confesses to Lon, who is angry but admits that he still loves her. He tells her that he does not want to convince his fiancée that she should be with him, but Allie tells him he does not have to, because she already knows she should be with him.

The film goes back to the elderly couple, and Duke asks Allie who she chose. She soon realizes the answer herself; young Allie appears at Noah's doorstep, having left Lon at the hotel and chosen Noah. They embrace in reunion.

Elderly Allie suddenly remembers her past before she and Noah/Duke joyfully spend a brief intimate moment together; after originally finding out about her illness, she had herself written their story in the notebook with the instructions for Noah to "Read this to me, and I'll come back to you." But soon Allie relapses, losing her memories of Noah yet again. She panics, and has to be sedated by the attending physician. This proves to be too difficult for Noah to watch and he breaks down. The next morning, Noah is found unconscious in bed and he is rushed to the hospital; he later returns to the nursing home's intensive care ward. He goes to Allie's room later that night, and Allie remembers again. The next morning, a nurse finds them in bed together, having both died peacefully holding each other's hands. The last scene shows a flock of birds flying away.

One phrase really strikes me after seeing this movie. Its when 2 individuals fall in-love, no matter what the situation is, it will still finds its way to be with each other no matter what.

"The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. And that's what you've given me. That's what I'd hoped to give you forever."

Letters to Juliet

Gladly had chance to watch Letter to Juliet. When a young writer named Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) went to the city of Verona, home of the star-crossed lover Juliet Capulet of Romeo and Juliet fame, she joins a group of volunteers women who respond to letters to Juliet seeking advice about love. Sophie finds and answers a letter that has been lost for 50 years, and is stunned when its author Claire (Vanessa Redgrave) arrives in Italy with her handsome but overprotective grandson Charlie (Christopher Egan) to find the fiance she left decades before.

Fascinated by Claire's quest, Sophie joins them on an adventure through the beautiful hills of Tuscany searching for Claire's long lost Lorenzo. The journey will change their lives forever, as they discover it's never too late to find true love.

Some few lines from the movie really strikes my ego thoughts about being IN LOVE.

‘What’ and ‘if’ two words as nonthreatening as words come. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: ‘What if?’…”

"I don’t know what a love like that feels like… a love to leave loved ones for, a love to cross oceans for… but I’d like to believe if I ever felt it. I’d have the courage to seize it. I hope you had the courage to seize it. And if you didn’t, I hope one day that you will."

Now, I'm really convinced that I really do believe in SOULMATES. No matter how many ages come still LOVE will permits if it's really meant to happen. -thoughts by Nathaniel Dham

"The Fisherman and The Businessman"

Got this nice meaningful story that was tagged by my Friend in my FaceBook Account.

"The Fisherman and The Businessman"

A man came home from work late again, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year-old son waiting for him at the door. “Daddy, may I ask you a question?” “Yeah, sure, what is it?” replied the man. “Daddy, how much money do you make an hour? “That’s none of your business! What makes you ask such a thing?” the man said angrily.

“I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?” pleaded the little boy. “If you must know, I make $20.00 an hour.” “Oh,” the little boy replied, head bowed. Looking up, he said, “Daddy, may I borrow $10.00 please?”

The father was furious. “If the only reason you wanted to know how much money I make is just so you can borrow some to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. I work long, hard hours everyday and don’t have time for such childish games.” The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even madder about the little boy’s questioning. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think he may have been a little hard on his son. Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $10.00, and he really didn’t ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door. “Are you asleep son?” he asked. “No daddy, I’m awake,” replied the boy.

“I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier,” said the man. “It’s been a long day and I took my aggravation out on you. Here’s that $10.00 you asked for.” The little boy sat straight up, beaming. “Oh, thank you daddy!” he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow, he pulled out some more crumpled up bills. The man, seeing that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, then looked up at the man.

“Why did you want more money if you already had some?” the father grumbled. “Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,” the little boy replied.

“Daddy, I have $20.00 now. Can I buy an hour of your time?”

The Lake House

When two people "connect" the bond between them can be so pure and simple as to stir hearts in heaven. When they connect in all the right places at all the wrong times, heaven weeps for broken hearts. To heal these broken hearts, heaven breaks time. Written by Blithe Spiritus

The story is
all about one lady namely Kate Forster who is moving out from her lake house, built all of it with glass. She is a doctor and has just begin to work in a hospital in Chicago, moving to a new flat in the center of the city. Alex Wyler is the new owner of the lake house, a young architect who's working in the construction of a new complex of houses at the city skirts. Alex and Kate are maintaining a correspondence, talking about the house matters, sending each other letters, which are put in the lake house's letter box. But a strange thing is happening, because both of them find out that the letter box is working as a kind of time communication channel, between the year 2004, where Alex's living, and 2006, the year that Kate's actually living. After sending each other many letters talking about their lives, and Kate talking to Alex about how life will be in two years, it seems like they're falling in love each other. But maybe they will never meet each other, because of the time distance. Nevertheless, Kate comes up with a memory from 2004, when she forgot a book in a train station, Jane Austen's "Persuasion", and she'll ask Alex to go to that place in that precise moment, when she lost the book. Maybe the future of Kate is about to change, when Alex decides to meet Kate's other self in the past, despite the fact that she has a boyfriend. They will learn that playing with time could be a little bit dangerous for both of them, but Alex will take everything into his hands to finally meet Kate in the future.

I can't believe I just viewed this movie just now. How could I miss such a great movie like this.
"It only proves that TIME is an essence in LOVE. It plays a big role in someones life. In matter of LOVE, time might be a big hindrance in two loving individuals, But if we will patiently wait and trust in our LOVE for each other no matter what, it will find its own way to be with each other, perhaps NOT NOW, but SOMEDAY." -thoughts by Nathaniel Dham

Love Song for No One

Why at times we used to push things which is not meant to be?

What hurts most is you tend to care for someone BUT still it's not worth it.

Why I never learned my lesson about this kind of thing?

Why I always end up hurting my own self.

I will try to learn not to push things through. It hurts to push things which is not really meant to happen.

Will patiently wait. :(

Dear John Movie

It was relatively done when I finished watching DEAR JOHN. I never get used to in watching love movies because I really can't relate to it to the fact that I'm not engaged in any relationship yet. But still I tend to watch typical movies like this. So I know it was based on a novel from Nicholas Sparks (the author that I knew that write novels more about Love). Watching the whole film made me realize how LOVE can goes. By sitting in a beach while sunset goes, watching the full moon with someone, counting the stars while talking about future dreams with each other, cherishing moments with each other is just so PRICELESS. But sometimes imagining those things alone gives me an enigma making me feel more pain. Wishing, sharing, hoping these thoughts with SOMEONE. Just so I know I was about to write for 5 minute but took me 1 hour to write in a blank template like this. Just made me prove that I am speechless in telling fond stories about LOVE because neither do I is EMPTY. :'(

Chillux @ Dubai Mall

It was weekend again, planning to have a whole day sleep, rest whole day from a 1 week back-to-work duty. Everything didn't happen because it was a call for a friend bonding with my friends Tin & Marielle. Our destination, nothing else but Dubai Mall. =) roam around, chit chat, starbucks, shopping, our fave shop H&M. Hopefully Tin would find a job here in Dubai. Its enough that she wasted one month before on a visit visa. Hope everything fall into places for her. I know there's room for her here in Dubai. Random shots taken during our bonding moment with the 2 girls...

My Emirates dream career

Month of May was a good start for me. Started first day of May with a blast. Had my long sleeping hours, online for the whole day, watch movies on my laptop. Perhaps it was a so called VACATION LEAVE. It was one good chance to start applying for my long dream career. EMIRATES AIRLINES. From time to time I used to check my mailbox. Just before May comes, I got an E-mail from Emirates that I myself had been short-listed for an airline based position. Attached with the E-mail is an Job description, Benefits of an employee, and an invitation letter asking me for an initial interview and for handing the given requirements needed for the said position.

May 1-2, 2010

It was a 2 day preparation. I myself find time to revise my CV for Emirates. I made it look like I was really applying for an cabin crew/airline based position. Thanks to the Internet web which gave me a lot of idea on how to construct a CV for a certain airline position. It was also a rush time for me to look for a suit/corporate attire that would fit me well. (smallest size. yay!). I roamed around each and every mall just to find a perfect suit that would fit me best. Luckily, got one. But, just to look better that same day I came to one of my well known tailor shop around Al Ghurair. (Thanks to Fathima Tailor Shop). They altered my suit on the best way they can. Even it's RUSH! =)

May 3, 2010 (Big Day!)

Early morning at 700am I was prepared to head off to Emirates Aviation College. Call time was 730am, came by 630am (excited?!) It was a goosebumps feeling for me. Finally, had my chance to step up in the aviation college of Emirates. It ended up well. A brief explanation on how our application goes, took our requirements, and still have to wait for their E-mail. It really didn't took long. (I tooked longer in finding a suit, than passing my requirements.)

I just keep on praying that everything will fall into right places. GOD knows how much ive been dreaming working for Emirates. I know GOD feels how much is my dedication and passion in pursuing my chosen career. Im hoping and praying that in GOD'S perfect time everything will fall into right places.

So, Help me GOD.

Party people: Has it's own worth

Party people is worth more than they seem to be. They're not a wild child in any means, coz on every vodka, dancing on long lively music, and endless cigarette.

There is a sign saying:

"MAKE ME ALIVE AND HAPPY COZ I'M DEADLY BROKEN".

Because of HIS every WHY'S

I wanna be the reason
why he cuts his hair just
because i told him so...

the reason why
he eats something just
because it's my favorite food...

the reason why
he falls asleep while
holdin' his fone at night...

the reason why
he loves somethin'
he used to hate
because I love it...

and,

I wanna be the
"BECAUSE"
of his every
"WHY'S".

Love as a Relationship

Relationships are not made perfect and are not created without flaws.

Sometimes, the tiny hurt and simple insecurities make it all better, when partners learned to conquer the fears & doubts they have, it is time that they start to earn from the investments that they put when they gambled to start the relationship.

Treat every moment as if you were just beginning:
ALWAYS the best foot forward.

1 year, 2 years, or even 50 years will never guarantee that you will still have another day as lovers.

When you wake up one day feeling less love than before, sleep again. It may just be an ugly wake up.

Love is not the mere foundation of keeping a relationship but the commitment one has made for himself, that as long as he can, he will stay in relationship even if it hurts sometimes.
